A supplier feed changes: items run out, get discontinued, come back. The program treats disappearance from a feed as temporary.
Hide, do not delete
A product that is no longer in the feed is taken off the storefront but stays in the store database. Back in the feed, back on the shelf — with its URL, its reviews and the statistics it has accumulated.
Deleting it would mean throwing away a page that has already earned something in search, and creating a dead link wherever someone has referred to it.
Why a product may not be imported
The import log states the reason plainly:
- no description — that is how it is configured: products without a description are skipped;
- no images — the same;
- the supplier category is not mapped to a store category — go back to Setup → Categories.
Skipped products are remembered so they are not reconsidered on every run. The skip list is cleared with a button on the import screen — after that the program tries them again.
Postponed with an error
If a product could not be written into the store, it goes back into the queue and the attempt is repeated. After three failures the product is postponed: it stays in the queue but is not picked up, and a “Postponed with an error” block appears with the reason. “Retry” sends such products round again.
On the Overview screen they show up in “Needs attention”, together with products that have no description, no images or no price.
